Match scheduling shall occur no later than 5 days before the proposed date to secure referees. Requests to schedule matches less than 5 days must be communicated with statecups@njyouthsoccer.com to confirm referee availability.

SPRING 2025 (15U-18U/19U)
NJYS State Cups are among the largest state cups programs in the nation, with three levels of play in single elimination format! The competitions crown champions of the state, region, and nation. With the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup, and Challenge Cup tournaments, every participating team has the ability to vie for the title of “State Champion.”

The Squadi platform is used for State Cup registration, scheduling, and scoring to streamline the State Cup operational functions into an entirely digital game day experience to modernize the game for players, coaches, referees, and fans. Frequently Asked Questions
The tiered competition structure provides a competition level for each competitive team. NJYS has established guidelines for competition placement based on the team’s league flight. The National Championship Series is recommended for teams in the USYS National League, National Academy League, and EDP Premier 1 & 2. The Presidents Cup is recommended for teams in EDP conferences Premier 3, 4, and 5 (11U-14U), and Premier 3 & 4 (15U-18/19U). The Challenge Cup is recommended for teams EDP conferences Premier 6 and lower (11U-14U), Premier 5 and lower (15U-18U/19U), Metro, MCYSA, MNJYSA, and MOSA .
The Squadi platform is used for State Cup registration, scheduling, and scoring to streamline the State Cup operational functions into an entirely digital game day experience. NJYS & Squadi have developed an extensive range of training resources for clubs, participants and referees including guides, videos and FAQs. There is no additional cost to teams use the software.
The 11U-14U age groups compete in the fall season (e.g., September through November). The 15U-19U age groups compete in the spring season (e.g., March through May).
For the 2024-2025 season, winners of the 12U-19U NJ Youth Soccer level of the National Championships Series advance to the USYS Eastern Regional Championships in late June. 11U teams will not advance beyond the state level for NCS. 13U-19U Regional Champions will have the opportunity to advance to the National Championships in late July.
Winners of the 12U-19U NJ Youth Soccer level of the Presidents Cup will advance to the USYS Eastern Presidents Cup in mid-June, with the chance to advance to the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in early-July.
The Challenge Cup champions do not advance to a regional or national event.
Note: NJ Youth Soccer may receive wildcards for the regional events. In such case, the runner-up may be offered the opportunity to advance.
Games may be scheduled by both teams at a mutually agreeable time before the posted ‘play-by’ date listed for each round (e.g., Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals). The championships matches are played on a date and time set by NJ Youth Soccer.
Games are played at a venue designated by the home teams for the preliminary round games (e.g., (e.g., Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals). The championship matches are played at a neutral site coordinated by NJ Youth Soccer.
