If your team is planning to play outside of New Jersey, you must obtain permission to travel from New Jersey Youth Soccer. This permission is obtained by completing a Permission to Travel form and having it approved by NJYS. Having this permission is a requirement of our National organization and our insurance carrier. This requirement is for the protection of your players and coaches. It assures that you will be traveling to a competition that meets the standards of US Soccer.
If your organization wants to hold a tournament, you need to have a Permission to Host a Tournament Agreement approved by NJYS.
The New Jersey Youth Soccer Board of Directors has reaffirmed its position on tournament play for U10 and below players. These players may only travel to tournaments that are non results oriented for these age groups. That it, there are no declared champion and every participant receives the same participation award. NJYS will only sanctioned a tournament that includes U10 and below play that meets the same non results oriented guidelines.
