Open Tryouts for the 2010-2011 Initial Pool

The open tryouts for the Initial Pools for all age groups, both boys and girls, will be held on the first two weekends in August.  Players must participate in their birth year only - positively no playing up. 

Specific times and locations are provided in the table below.

Every player must attend at least one tryout but is encouraged to attend all four tryouts.  Players will be evaluated on their performance at all the tryouts they attend.  Players will not be given a waiver for injury or illness.  A player who cannot attend at least one of the tryouts is ineligible for the ODP program for the rest of the year.

The Initial Pool, consisting of about 30 players for each age group, will be identified.  However, players who were selected for the 2009-2010 Region I Pools are automatically placed in the Initial Pools. This will limit the eventual number of available positions in each pool.  The tryout numbers of players selected for the Initial Pool will be posted on this website on August 31, 2010.  Players selected for the Initial Pool will receive a package of forms that must be completed and returned to the NJYS Office by the specified due date.  Players who do not return the required information will be dropped from the Initial Pool.  Players not selected for the Initial Pool will also receive notification.

From September 2010 through March 2011, events may be scheduled for specific age groups.  Players will be contacted individually if an event is scheduled.  Tryouts for the Final Pool will be held in early April 2011.  Every player in the Initial Pool will receive a postcard during March 2011 specifying the location and time of the Final Pool tryouts.
